Known Issues & Limitations

Since macOS 15 (Sequoia), Apple filters access to the local network.

macOS shows the permission dialog when it decides one is needed, usually during a connection attempt. No app can trigger that dialog reliably, so it may never appear.

If sending data to the console fails unexpectedly:

  • Click Request Local Network Access on the Settings page.
  • Check that you did not turn the permission down earlier.
Go to macOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Local Network and switch GMA Toolbox on.
  • The tool only processes fixtures that have a valid, unique ID.
  • Exported coordinates must be metric.
  • Multi-patch fixtures and fixture accessories are not supported. That includes scrollers and multi-channel units such as 4/8-lites and RGB bars.

See the Patch Creator page for the full list, including the limits on MVR import and grandMA3.
